The sands

Art Print Designed by Mudi Albednah

An expressive poster inspired by a poem by Ghazi Al-Gosaibi:

O Desert,

I wandered across the universe and did not find

anything more barren than your land,

anything purer than your love,

or anything harsher than your hatred.

I returned to you, O Desert,

with sea spray upon my face,

and in my soul, a mirage of weeping,

a vision floating through the dawn,

the gleam of a blonde braid,

and upon my lips, a line of poetry,

and a song without echoes.

I returned to you burdened with worry,

because among people I could not find

one who believes in people.

I returned to you deprived,

because the universe is ribs

without a heart,

because love is words

stripped of love.

I returned to you defeated,

because I fought the battle of life

with the sword of my feelings.

And I returned to you… I cast my anchors

upon the sand.
